Oxford boundary markers: Godstow Road bridge (1892)


Boundary stone on Cuckoo Lane beside Woodlands Road

Set into the south wall of the bridge over the River Thames on the Godstow Road, near the Trout pub

It is dated the same year and matches the following two stones:

Opposite Headley Way, Headington

Woodlands Road, Headington

 

Frederick Ansell was Mayor of Oxford in 1891/2, and there was a special beating of the bounds that year
