This milestone on the Oxford to London Road via Henley dates from about 1736, but the arabic numerals used on this side indicate that the inscription dates from the nineteenth century.
The original eighteenth-century inscription with roman numerals is on the other side (below), but is much harder to read, except for the word “To” at the bottom left. .
