Private S. GREEN (1874–1898)

S. GREEN was born in 1874. He is hard to identify.

 

In 1897/8 Private S. Green served in E Company of the 2nd Battalion of the Oxfordshire Light Infantry (Service No. 5090) in Bengal.

He served both on the Punjab Frontier and at Tirah in 1897/8.

He died of disease at Landi Kotal at the western edge of the Khyber Pass at the age of 23 years and 8 months on 24 July 1898.

He was posthumously awarded the India Medal with two clasps.
