The above postcard shows the south end of St Giles Street in the snow, and gives the precise date for this unseasonable weather: 26 April 1908.

On the left are the Salvin Buildings of Balliol College. In the centre of the road in front of St Mary Magdalen Church are the Martyrs’ Memorial, the cabmen’s shelter, and the underground toilets for gentlemen.
